Christian Boucher
Tell me about your history. Where you grew up? How you started skiing and what led you to move to Whistler?
I grew up in Amqui, Quebec in the Gaspesie peninsula. I started ski racing at 6 years old. I stopped racing at 17 and then did one year of moguls. I was at a mogul comp trying to impress a girl in the crowd and went way too big, crashed, and messed my back up. I couldn’t ski hard for 5 years. I coached racing for 3 years during that time. I raced against Hugo Harrison growing up and heard he won the Freeskiing World Tour. I was finally healthy and wanted to start competing in skiing again so I moved to Whistler when I was 24.
How old are you?
23, haha, no I’m 33.
What influences your skiing?
When you ski you don’t think about anything, the problems, work, that is what inspires me.
Do you get paid to ski?
